- these PDA do not have
serial ports so it is not possible to connect any GPS via cable. Therefore we
do not have interfaces for these models.
Palm
Zire71/Tungsten - The Zire71
universal seems to be slightly different from previous Palm models (M5xx) in that
the connectors (DP50)
we have been using for a long time could not lock into Zire71.
There was no reason form Palm to change the connector and we would suspect this
as design defect. It is also the same with a small portions of Tungstens.
Therefore we have made the interface (DPZ7)
with a new connector that can lock into Zire71.
While most Tungstens
can use DP50
with no problem, we recommend Tungstens
owners to order DPZ7 parts
to be on the safe side. DPZ7
can also be used with old M5xx models but it is not as good as DP50.

I already have a car adapter, I do
not want to buy a whole set, what do I need. You
need 3 parts: DEL-U, PS2DC,
and PDA interface. Many
car adapters for PDA and other devices use the same universal 4.0/1.7 DC plug
(and 5-5.5v output) so you can use your existing car adapter, e.g. Ipaq, Toshiba,
Casio, Axim, Fujitsu, etc. You can also use battery extender
PB4A and use batteries allowing you to use
outdoors.
If I use batteries,
how long will it last?. It depends on
many factors: PDA, brightness settings, condition/capacity of batteries used etc.
One good set of fully charged 1800mAh batteries should last
at least 5 hours at medium brightness. You can always carry extra set if you need
to be out for long period.
Can
PDA supply power to the GPS? No, external
power must be connected.
