Difference
between GAST3X(B) and
GAS76X(B) We introduced GAS76
(SM-76) in January 2003 to accompany our innovative
portable re-radiating power unit. For several
months prior to the introduction we had been testing many antennas on the market
to find the best performance/price unit and finally chose SM-76.
Although SM-76
is quite small by antenna standard, we were looking for the smallest possible
antenna to go with our re-radiating antenna unit. There were a few smaller, mini
antennas we tested but none could match the performance of SM-76
so in the end we scarified small size for good performance.
We
were right on that. SM-76
had received only favorable comments/feedbacks.
But
all the time we were testing other newer/smaller antennas that were available
though our policy is to sell only one antenna model.
We
had been testing STR-3 (GAST3)
for a few months prior to its introduction and we can assure our customers that
the performance is as good, if not better, as SM-76.
And there are these that STR-3
is definitely better: 1. Size
: STR-3 is about
half the size of SM-76.
2. Power input:
2.5v-12v which means it can be used with almost all GPS old and new. 3.
Power consumption: 5-11mA
which is about the least power hungry antenna on the market. 4.
Cost: we can sell for
less !
We did not introduce STR-3
earlier only because we had massive stock of SM-76!
