Pc-Mobile SE86U use
the popular Prolific PL2303 USB to Serial Bridge Controller and has better compatibility
than any other controllers. Drivers are supplied by Prolific
Technology Inc., (www.prolific.com.tw). Drivers updates
and technical information can be found on Prolific's technical site: http://tech.prolific.com.tw
Install instruction for Win98/ME/2K/XP
Close all applications (reset recommended), do not connect any
cable, run usbinstaller.exe and follow set up instruction.
After driver is installed, restart computer.
Connect
SE86U, from device manager, you should see
a new com port (USB to Serial Port) installed with com port number assigned.
Note the com
port (Com5) it is assigned and configure your software to use that com port.
Note: Each time you disconnect and reconnect a USB device,
a different com port may be assigned particularly if you have several USB devices
connecting your PC. So if your software does not seem to work, check that a correct
com port is assigned. If you do not see a USB to Serial Port installed, disconnect
and reconnect the cable so that driver can be loaded.
